1. do a dry run
Before you are ready to welcome your first guest, do a quick dry run of your unit.
Invite a friend or spend the night in your unit yourself with the mindset of a guest.
Turn on the television, try to connect to the internet, run the microwave oven, etc. to make sure everything is working properly. Make sure you get a good nights’ sleep and that the bedroom is dark and quiet enough.
Spending the night may seem like too much, but by staying in your unit you will notice things that you may never notice otherwise. You may have to clean up a little afterward, but it can help you discover a potential minor wrinkle or major problem before your first guest arrives and leaves you a negative review.
